Voting for the 2025 Love Your Library Design Contest is Now Open!

View the top entries from the Love Your Library design contest below and submit your vote by April 18. Please review all of the entries before making your selection.
You may only vote one time for each of the three categories: Adult, Young Artist (ages 1-12), and Teen Artist (ages 13-17). If you vote more than once, only the first vote submitted will be counted.
Winning designs from the top submissions will be chosen by popular vote. In the adult category, the entry with the most votes wins the Grand Prize ($1,000). The entry with the second most votes wins First Place ($500), third most votes wins Second Place ($250), and fourth most votes wins Third Place ($100). The artists of the two youth categories with the most votes will each receive a Kindle Kids eReader. The Grand Prize winner will be announced at Eugene Public Library Foundation’s premiere annual event, Booked for the Evening, on May 3.

Adult Category
1. Title: Love Your Library - Description: Getting my library card has gotten me back into reading, and I am so grateful! I wanted to represent how books give you the ability to stretch your imagination.
2. Title: Love Note - Description: I think of the Eugene Public Library and all it offers as a love note to our community.
3. Title: Everyone Welcome - Description: When I visit the Library, I am struck by the variety of people there. I love this aspect. I don't want anyone to ever be excluded.
4. Title: Planting Knowledge - Description: Each book is a seedling of the mother plant of knowledge. Going to the library is like harvesting the garden.
5. Title: Library Love - Description: I designed a bold and colorful modern graphic for the Eugene Public Library because libraries are anything but boring—they’re vibrant hubs of creativity, learning, and community! I wanted the design to reflect that excitement, making the library feel like an inviting, inspiring place where everyone can dive into new ideas and adventures.
6. Title: Love your Library - It's an Open Book! - Description: I was born and raised in Eugene and the library was a fundamental part of my childhood, and in turn, my kids childhoods. The art piece I'm submitting celebrates our library and its welcoming ethic with large bright lettering and library media imagery layered over an open book and pages in the background.
7. Title: Love All the Pieces of Your Library - Description: I enjoy going to the library and am continuing to discover all of the wonderful things and services that are offered there. I tried to share a few of these with my artwork.
8. Title: Books Lift Us Up! - Description: I love the library as a volunteer, attendee at funding events, and as an author. I visit to hear wonderful writers, attend and give music concerts, use computers, and see and participate in art shows.
9. Title: I💛 MY Public Library Map - Description: Our family loves the access public libraries provide for our community. Knowledge and literacy should be available to everyone.
10. Title: Rainy day, cozy book - Description: As an alumni of U of O, the Eugene Public Library has been a hub of building and connecting with the greater Eugene community.
11. Title: Bookworm Club - Description: I create my bookworm club artwork to illustrate the joy I see in my boys' faces when they have a book in their hands. My kids have been going to the Eugene Public library for the majority of their lives. Their love for reading, and for books has been something that has enriched all of our lives.
12. Title: Beyond Books - Description: I am blown away by the amount of services that the library offers to the community. My intent was to showcase the valuable and enriching resources that our library provides.
13. Title: Love Your Library Pile - Description: I am proud to live in a community with such an active and beautiful library space. Visiting the library has become a regular part of my children’s lives and I hope my artwork communicates the joy of finding a lovely pile of books at the library.
14. Title: Love Your Local Library- Eugene, OR - Description: Living in Eugene, I'm in awe of not only the stories that the Eugene Public Library provides, but the tools, services and community. Libraries are at the heart of the local community and deserve to be recognized and appreciated.

16. Title: The Power of Reading - Description: Libraries have always been a sort of safe space for me. I wanted my art to show the power that books hold in their pages and the greatness that they help people achieve.
17. Title: With Books, I’ll Change the World - Description: My connection with Eugene Public Library lies in its role as a place where stories—our most cherished possessions—are kept. Just as my illustration shows the world glowing from the top of a stack of books, I believe knowledge and connection can light the way to a brighter future, and the library is the perfect place to nurture both.
18. Title: Where Community Grows - Description: I believe the library is a vital space to facilitate educated, strong, and kind communities. I read some of my first books at Eugene Public Library.
19. Title: The lighthouse of knowledge - Description: The Eugene Public Library has been a safe space for me where I have read, studied, practice yoga and played games. I see the public library as a beacon of light that shines hope in our community, brings people together and is a safe heaven for all Eugenians.
20. Title: The Library Is Calling - Description: I’ve always seen Eugene Public Library as a basecamp for curiosity, like the start of a great Pacific Northwest hike. This design blends classic trail iconography with the journey of reading, inviting people to explore new ideas like they’d explore the wilderness.

Title: Ducks Love the Library - Description: As an educator, the public library is an important tool for students to be able to build competence and passion for reading, especially if they do not have access to books where they are living. I want my art to show that the library is for all ages and identities. Reading should always be accessible to all and public libraries make that feasible.
22. Title: Sitting in front of the Eugene Public Library - Description: I love the Eugene Public Library! I work around the corner and I listen to one audiobook once a day, thanks to the library. I like to go and eat my lunch outside, often looking at the library. It’s the best place in Eugene to draw and people watch.
23. Title: Books and So Much More - Description: From baby story time to e-book check outs, the Eugene Public Library has been right by my side as I have grown from a lost new mother to now: a decade plus of experience as a mother but still a bit lost as one. And while “a library equals books” is often my first thought, I know that what it really is is a place for ideas and discoveries, connections and community, and the resources to help us all grow.
24. Title: Love Your Library - Description: I grew up in Eugene, and the library has always been an important part of my life. As a kid I regularly checked out the maximum number of books allowed and returned as soon as I had read them all. I wasn’t able to travel much before I left home, but reading was a way for me to experience the outside world, and the library gave me access to stories from other perspectives and cultures which enriched my life and helped me grow as a person. My artwork reflects the feeling of freedom and travel through imagination that books have always given me.
25. Title: Libraries Leave a Permanent Mark - Description: EPL has always been more of a home & family than anything else. My art is based on the traditional "Mom" tattoos, because the library holds a special & permanent place in my heart.
Love Your Library Art Contest Youth Categories:
Young Artists (Ages 1-12)
1. Title: Love books! - Description: My sister and I love the library! I love books and the stairs.
2. Title: The Library Duck-o-rama - Description: I like the library because I can get a lot of books and there is a lot of variety. The meaning behind my artwork is I like ducks and I like the library.
3. Title: Feathery Books - Description: Going to the library means I can get a lot of books that I love and play with the puppets! The meaning of my art is that there are so many books in the world that you have to stack them up so even the birds can see them, and even the birds like the books.
4. Title: Your Library Is An Adventure - Description: In all types of books, there is always some type of adventure. When you go to the library you get to go on your own adventure in your books.
5. Title: Every Bunny Loves the Library - Description: I’ve gone to the library my whole life and I have fond memories of reading there in preschool with my class!
6. Title: Hop into a Book - Description: I love reading and have since I was little. I love visiting the library! I included some of my favorite books from different ages.
7. Title: Love Your Library! - Description: I’m taking my time reading books!
8. Title: The book basket - Description: When I was younger my dad would bring me to the library every week. He also puts a book in my Easter basket.

11. Title: The Weirdo at the Top of the Hill - Description: the library has kirby and splatoon manga and it's awesome and the meaning behind my art is that if not for that one book the tree wouldn't be part of the forest.
12. Title: A Love for Books - Description: I go weekly to check out books at the EPL, which keep me entertained throughout the week. The meaning behind my art is that without books the world would be boring and colorless.
13. Title: Loving your library. - Design: The Eugene Public Library has provided a safe community where I can be myself and let my love of books flourish. The meaning of my art is to show people how much the Eugene Public Library means to people.
Teen Artists (Ages 13-17)
1. Title: Quacker and Chip Write a Book - Description: I have always found the library as a calm quiet place where you can study or read without surrounding chaos. You can get lost in imagination as you live through worlds and lives, all in one place.
2. Title: Book Worms Love the library - Description: Ever since I was little, the Eugene Public Library had been one of my favorite places to go. I could happily browse the library for hours and never get tired. For my art piece, I wanted to make a fun little illustration of a bookworm to represent the bookworms in all of us.
3. Title: Story of Eugene - Description: I grew up going to the eugene public library, and I loved getting to expirience new stories and awsome adventures. my art piece is made to symbolize my love for books and their connection to us.
4. Title: Community Love - Description: My family and I have a deep passion for reading all genre of books. The meaning behind my artwork, is that the library is the foundation of our literary community.
5. Title: The City's Roots - Description: I've gone to the Eugene Public Library my whole life, and it's one of my favorite places in Eugene. Just being in the library makes me feel connected to everyone there because I know they must love books, too, and that connection made me think of interconnected roots, so that's what I drew.
