Booked for the evening
Our premiere annual event in support of Eugene Public Library: Booked for the Evening, is on Saturday, May 3, at the beautiful downtown library. This will be the first time we have ever held our annual event on the top floor of the library, and the first time many of those in attendance will have seen the space! For that reason, and because this event will support the cost of making this floor more available to the public, our theme is Uplifting Community, with a nod to the Pixar movie, Up. We anticipate a sold out room of library supporters in attendance!
Funds raised at this year's Booked for the Evening will help the library purchase moveable walls, tables and chairs, art carts, and other materials needed to prepare the space for the first stage of the fourth floor transformation.
Free access to welcoming places like the fourth floor will provide more space for library programming, events, author talks, performances, and other community-building endeavors. The fourth floor is a blank canvas that gives library staff the opportunity to create a space for all ages to gather, spark imagination and inspiration, and find joy - which are all very important to building a resilient and connected community.
Sponsoring our event is a great way to link your business with our mission to support Eugene Public Library - our area’s invaluable resource. Click here to view our sponsor guide.
We hope you will consider supporting this event to help us reach our goal of $100,000 - which will equal success for the library staff and our entire community, who can all benefit from the improvement.

Thank you to everyone who attended Eugene Public Library Foundation's Booked for the Evening on Saturday, April 29, 2023! It was so inspiring to celebrate 20 years in the downtown Eugene Public Library with such a dedicated and generous community of library supporters. Your attendance meant a lot to us! Booked 2022
Here are some scenes from 2022 when we were entertained and inspired to give by Honorary Chair, Mayor Lucy Vinis, author Kim Johnson, and our dynamic host, Eugene City Councilor Matt Keating. Will O’Hearn graciously highlighted how Eugene Public Library has met community needs again and again throughout the pandemic, demonstrating how the Library of Things is expanding access to knowledge even more. And we honored Renee Grube who retired as the executive director of Library, Recreation, and Cultural Services.
