Imagination Library of Eugene

Imagination Library of Eugene Announcement

We appreciate the community’s steadfast support of Imagination Library of Eugene!

Since 2014, Imagination Library of Eugene supporters have made it possible for 486,675 books to be delivered to the mailboxes of 17,133 children! Eugene Public Library Foundation Board and Staff, in partnership with Eugene Public Library, have been proud to facilitate this program.

We have exciting news: Imagination Library of Eugene is expanding!

Starting on July 1, our program is combining with other Lane County Imagination Library Program Partners, Springfield Young Readers and United Way of Lane County, to establish a countywide program:

Imagination Library of Lane County!

This newly formed countywide program, which will include coverage of Eugene youth, will be administered by United Way of Lane County. This expanded program is set to launch in July 2026. To learn more, visit the Imagination Library page on United Way’s website .

This is great news for youth across Lane County!

This expansion will make it easier for families across Lane County to sign up and remain enrolled with fewer interruptions to book deliveries,
even if their addresses change.

This is especially important to our most vulnerable families who are highly mobile and are impacted most by the steps that have to be taken when moving from one Lane County Imagination Library Program Partner to another. For example, currently, if a family moves from Eugene to Springfield (or vice versa), they have to un-enroll from their current Imagination Library program and re-enroll in their new program, which often leads to delays in receiving books. With this expansion, movements like this would involve a simple address change only, since they will no longer be transferring to a new program.

What does this mean for Imagination Library of Eugene supporters? First and foremost, we would like to extend our gratitude for your dedication to supporting the Imagination Library of Eugene. Donors like you have helped the program thrive and have set this expansion up for success!   Your past gifts to EPLF that were designated to Imagination Library of Eugene will follow the program to ensure seamless support of youth literacy in our area.

Thank you again for your ongoing support of Imagination Library and literacy in our community!

You can never get enough books into the hands of enough children.
