Established in 1984, the Eugene Public Library Foundation has sought private support to improve the services and programs of our Library. One example is the New Book Brigade, which purchases new books in subjects of the donor's choice. The year 2000 Club endowment has met its goal, with earnings supporting reference and other critical collections

The Foundation successfully raised 5 million dollars for Eugene's Downtown Library with over 2500 donors from our communities helping to make our new library a source of pride for all.

Since then, monies raised by the Foundation have funded Wi-Fi throughout the building; Teen Summer Reading; Storytime Express; new books and media; Early Words Literacy programs; Read for Joy; Cyber Savvy Youth and new art, such as the Rose Window.

With the Foundation's support, the Library's reach has grown considerably in the past 5 years. The collection has grown, programs have increased and library visits have increased substantially. This says a lot about the people of Eugene and their support for their library.

The Eugene Public Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, separate and independent of City government. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible as provided for by law. Gifts can be made through cash contributions, planned giving bequests or transfers of stock or other property.

The Eugene Public Library Foundation is directed by a 20 member volunteer Board of Directors serving three year terms and managed by an Executive Director.
